1. What if I would like Noted Vocals to sing a song which is not in their repertoire?
First, you would need to submit your request a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of your event. We can then create an arrangement of the song and have it ready to perform for your event. The song would need to be well known to the public and suitable to be added to our repertoire. Otherwise, we will charge $60.00 per arrangement.
2. Do your voices need to be amplified?
This depends on the size of the room and how you would like us to be presented. For example, if we are performing for a house party in a dining room or living room or foyer, we would not need microphones. Also, if we are in a larger venue, but singing from table to table (think strolling strings or mariachi musicians), then we would not need microphones. For more concert-like settings in larger rooms, we must use amplification. If the venue has a sound system on site with at least 2 identical microphones and someone designated to set volume levels, then we can use those with no extra charge. If they have a “house system” with someone there to monitor levels and we bring our own microphones and stands, then we will charge $20.00extra. If we bring our own microphones, stands, amplifier and speakers, we will charge $60.00 extra.
3. What if I only need up to about 15 minutes of singing for a small gathering?
In that case, you can take advantage of our Drive-By Special! We can arrive promptly at performance time, walk right in and start singing. We depart right after. Our Drive-By Special rate is $300.00. It’s a great way to surprise someone for a birthday, anniversary, or marriage proposal! Also, at Christmastime, we offer “Drive-By Caroling” for an even lower rate. 4. What should I provide for the singers?
We would like a room with seating to congregate in and warm up in. Water is always much appreciated. Of course, if you are hiring us for a “Drive-By Special” (see #3), this would not apply, since we are in and out in a flash.
5. Are there travel charges?
We all live in Denton, TX, so anywhere in a 60 mile radius of Denton is free. Beyond that, we must charge a small, very reasonable fee.
6. Will Noted Vocals come to my wedding rehearsal?
Yes, but the same charges would apply to the rehearsal as apply to the event. It really is not necessary to have us at the rehearsal, since we arrive well-rehearsed ourselves and only need to follow the timing of your service which you provide to us in advance.
7. Under what conditions will Noted Vocals sing outdoors?
We will sing outdoors if the temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit or above, is shaded or covered and out of the rain. Be sure to know which direction the shade falls at the precise time of day of our performance.
8. How will Noted Vocals be dressed?
At Christmas-time, we are popular for our colorful Dickens-era attire, but we can also wear more casual contemporary attire – usually black slacks and solid color tops, with or without coordinating neck wraps. At other times of the year, we try to match the theme of the event. For example, for Patriotic events we will wear red, white and blue. For formal weddings or memorial services, we usually wear all black. If the event is more casual we wear colorful tops. We enjoy working with whatever the client has in mind!
