Joan

Joan Phillips Joan Phillips grew up in a family of singers and music educators, and spent much of her youth singing and playing the piano and violin.  She received her B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, where she was a music minor.  After moving to Texas from her native state of Iowa, she has performed with a variety of both community and professional choral ensembles in the Dallas area, including The Women’s Chorus of Dallas, One Achord, The Living Christmas Card, Resounding Harmony, Denton Bach Society, Orpheus Chamber Singers, and Project Eve.  After her previous life as a legal assistant, she completed her M.Ed from UTA in 2007 and has been teaching middle school reading for the past several years.  She currently lives with her daughter, Madison, and various furry friends.
